Social Justice
At CCFSA, we have begun a process to explore the issues of racial injustice. We have involved the entire staff, from the intern to the CEO, and we’ve added regular social justice meetings to our schedule every 2 weeks. Please see our Social Justice Mission Statement, as well as our Business Case below. And please check back for further resources for education surrounding social justice periodically.
Social Justice Mission Statement
What we want our culture to be at CCFSA
We work to build a culture of social justice among staff, provider agencies and the community, free of bias or favoritism.
The Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies recognizes its responsibility as part of its mission to not only be part of this important conversation about Social Justice for all, but more importantly, part of the solution. We recognize and acknowledge everyone’s unique differences and believe our differences are our strength. CCFSA stands with others in denouncing racism, bigotry and intolerance.
CCFSA Business Case
Why we want to create a social justice culture at CCFSA
CCFSA, a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization, together with its partners and families, benefits from improved decision-making and service delivery. The organization is enriched by the diversity and inclusion of all people. Having a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture at CCFSA helps us achieve our mission to strengthen individuals, families, and all of the communities in Connecticut.
Definitions
Diversity is the acknowledgement and respect for the unique differences of all people.
Equity means equal access and participation for all, in systems, institutions, and all aspects of American culture free of bias or favoritism.
Inclusion calls for the creation of a warm and inviting environment for all. Everyone is empowered to participate and is in a position to contribute on an equal level in all aspects of our organizational structure. Everyone is welcomed, respected, valued, heard, acknowledged, and genuinely appreciated for their different points of view and experiences.
