Screening Connecticut's Youth (SCY)
SCREENING CONNECTICUT’S YOUTH (SCY)
The Screening Connecticut’s Youth (SCY) Program was developed to screen children and adolescents throughout Connecticut for early detection of mental health challenges or trauma issues and, if necessary, refer them to behavioral health services.
This federally funded program is an innovative, up-stream approach to addressing mental health concerns designed to prevent greater difficulties later in life. When a child, or children, are referred to the program, a Community Health Worker will contact the family to arrange a screening. The screening can be done in-person, over the phone, or via Zoom or other virtual meeting format. The screening process takes about 15 minutes. The screening will then be evaluated and the family will receive a referral to a behavioral health specialist if necessary.
The SCY Program is completely FREE and open to any of Connecticut’s youth from ages 4-17.
